Mother's Day Outings

Mother's Day Outings

Stumped on what to do for Mother's Day? There are so many fabulous places to go and things to do if Mom is in town for the weekend - check out what's happening in the city!

1. Opening Day at Mill City Farmer's Market

The Mill City Farmer's Market is officially back in it's outside territory starting this Saturday May 7th next to the Guthrie Theater. I may be bias but it's my favorite farmer's market in the area for the diversity of offerings, yummy samples, take aways and always finding a new local vendor to try.

Grab breakfast/lunch at one of the food trucks stationed for the day, buy her a fresh bouquet of flowers or herb plants to start her spring garden and sip on a coffee from Misfit Coffee while you browse (the coffee truck sure to be sitting close by - "Bali" is my favorite blend recently). You may even catch some live music, and you're guaranteed the stunning views of the river.

Opening Day Hours at the Market: 8am - 1pm  |  http://millcityfarmersmarket.org/

2. Sea Change Champagne and Oysters

Another one in the Mill District, Sea Change is serving it's normal a la carte brunch menu 11:00am - 3:00pm Sat and Sun - featuring it's fresh, sustainable seafood. I don't care what you say, Oysters and Champagne are a perfect match any day! Entrees are beautifully prepared and if you can snag a spot outside the setting is stellar and sure to impress Mom. Walk her through the Guthrie or see a matinee while you're at it, the building is amazing in and of itself, boasting some of the best views in the city.

Sea Change at the Guthrie: 806 S 2nd St, Minneapolis, MN 55415

3. Mother's Day Bruch Buffet at CōV

For all you suburban dwellers out there, or those of you looking to get OUT of the city for the afternoon, CōV is serving up a Mother's Day Brunch Buffet. This place is a beautifully designed inside and out and their food is fabulous! Their brunch features seafood, omelets, a carving station and specialty cocktails - Sip some mimosas with Mom while enjoying lakeside views of Minnetonka!

Mother’s Day Buffet Brunch Hours:
Sunday, May 8th
9:30 AM to 3 PM

CōV Wayzata700 East Lake Street, Wayzata, MN 55391

4. Tangletown for the Green Thumb

Spring has hit and if Mom enjoys gardening of any sort, take her for a day of shopping at Tangletown Gardens - this place has a great selection of all sorts of fun outdoor plants, flowers, herbs and garden decor! After getting your garden fix, grab family style brunch across the street at Wise Acre Eatery - it's a small, casual neighborhood eatery serving from-scratch organic, free-range locally grown food, much of it sourced from the Tangletown Gardens.

Family Style Brunch at Wise Acre Eatery: 9:00-3:00pm | 5401 Nicollet Avenue South, MPLS, MN 55419

Tangletown Gardens: Monday - Sunday 10am to 7pm

5. Freehouse Family Style Brunch

This is a safe bet for big groups - Freehouse (North Loop) always has great food and they happen to have a wonderfully sunny patio. AND for Mother's Day they are serving a family style brunch, so bring the whole clan (any size party welcome)!

The Freehouse: 701 N Washington Ave, Ste 101, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55401
